Pikliz is an important condiment from Haiti and is made from cabbage, carrots, onions/shallot, scotch bonnets, vinegar and lime juice. It's a spicy condiment that is similar to a Haitian cole slaw in terms of its use. Typically served as a side-dish to almost every meal in Haitian cuisine. Pikliz adds a tart crunch and it is used to add flavor and heat to various dishes such as rice, chicken, fried plantains and fish.
